March Solar sends congratulations out to Uni-Solar for being the "Grand Winner" of Popular Science Magazine’s "Best of What’s New" Award for 1996. Their new "Triple Junction" Solar Electric Modules are now available from March Solar and offer a dramatic improvement in "Thin Film" Modules.
Uni-Solar deposits a very thin layer of sunlight converting silicon onto a stainless steel plate and covers it with Tefzel (by DuPont) The result is an unbreakable panel that is 30% more efficient than other Thin Films on the market. (Uni-Solar’s triple junction efficiency is now a respectable 8%)
Other features of the new Uni-Solar triple junction solar panels is their internal bypass diodes which greatly lessen the negative effects of partial shading, these modules are also great for warmer climates as they are less prone to extreme temperatures.
